No Knead Focaccia Bread is absolutely foolproof, even for those new to bread baking. It turns out super crispy on the outside and deliciously soft and pillowy on the inside, with olive oil infusing every bite.

A loaf of focaccia bread cut into square pieces on a wooden cutting board and small plate.

What is Focaccia?

Focaccia is an Italian bread with a soft, spongy texture, sometimes topped with herbs or other savory ingredients. It’s similar to pizza dough, but with a more pillowy texture.

Its defining feature is the dimpled surface that is created by poking holes in the dough before baking. The dimples allow olive oil to pool, giving the bread it’s characteristic rich flavor golden brown crust.

Why You’ll Love This No Knead Focaccia

  • It will spoil your dinner, in the best way. My family calls fresh from the oven focaccia “snack bread,” because we immediately eat half of it standing around the kitchen before dinner is even served.
  • With just a few simple ingredients, you can whip up an impressive pan of bread that can be used as a side dish or for sandwiches.
  • The no-knead technique makes this perfect for beginners. It’s foolproof, even for those new to bread baking.

This Heirloom Tomato Salad with Beets is Perfect for Summer!

“Made this with tomatoes, basil, parsley and sage from my garden. It was delicious and so summery!”

—Lynda

When you have great vegetables from your garden or a farmer’s market, a “salad” really needs to be very little else beyond slicing, piling things onto a platter and drizzling with some good olive oil.

Many of us normally think of beets as more of a fall or winter vegetable. But since they’re my favorite vegetable, I’ve found that they can transition right into warmer weather too, especially when they are paired with tomatoes.

With over 100,000 page views, this summer beet salad recipe has made a star out of fresh produce on lots of dinner tables.

Why You’ll Love Beet Tomato Salad

  • With the earthy sweetness of roasted beets, the juicy and tangy tomatoes, and the rich blue cheese, it’s an actual flavor explosion.
  • It’s also loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, so it’s as healthy as it is delicious.

You need to know how to cook prime rib, and how to cook it well. This method of starting the oven at a high temperature and then lowering it means you get a beautifully caramelized crust on the outside of the meat, while the inside is still perfectly juicy and tender.

The best prime rib roast recipe ever, cut into slices.

All About How To Cook Prime Rib

A beautiful bone-in prime rib roast is the crown jewel of many holiday meals. Even though it generally costs a pretty penny, this lavish cut of meat is worth it when properly prepared.

Since it’s so expensive, you want to cook it right. When it’s beautifully browned on the outside and medium rare on the inside, you’ve done your job.

This post will walk you through our proven method of how to cook prime rib, so that it comes out perfectly every single time. This method (the one we use every holiday season!) uses a blast of super high heat for a short period of time to sear the outside of the meat, and then slow cooking it to a succulent, juicy finish.

Heads up! You might need these other recipes to cook and serve the best prime rib of your life:

Why You’ll Love Prime Rib In Oven

  • Once it goes into the oven, you don’t have much to do other than reduce the oven temperature once and monitor the internal temp of the meat. Your hands are free to prepare side dishes without constantly supervising the meat.
  • The method of starting the oven at a high temperature and reducing it to a lower one means you get a beautifully caramelized crust on the outside of the meat, while the inside is still perfectly juicy and tender.

Make your vegetable side dish swoon-worthy with these tender, sweet, and delicious Honey Glazed Carrots. Just a few simple ingredients and no fancy knife work.

White oval ceramic baking dish with wooden handles filled with honey glazed carrots garnished with rosemary.

Swoon-Worthy Honey Glazed Carrots Recipe

Knowing how to roast vegetables properly is SO fundamental to being a great cook that the culinary school I went to made you prove you could do it even before they admitted you (along with a few other basic skills like cooking eggs and making a vinaigrette).

They wanted students to have these foundational skills so that they would only continue to improve with daily practice in school. And I do mean daily. I’ve roasted actual thousands of carrots.

These Honey Glazed Carrots are the result of those thousands! They’re so good that when I serve them at home, they become the star of plate and not a supporting flavor, thanks to being perfectly roasted, with savory and sweet flavor boosts from butter, honey, garlic and rosemary.

Why You’ll Love Honey Roasted Carrots

  • No fancy knife cuts. Just cut the carrots in half, and you’re done!
  • Prep in less than 10 minutes. Then put them in the oven and forget about them for a bit.
  • Just a few simple ingredients turn a vegetable side dish into something really special.

Need Cajun Seasoning for a recipe? Make it yourself!

If you’ve come across a recipe that calls for Cajun seasoning, you might think you’re in a pinch if you don’t have any in your spice cabinet.

The truth is, if you have a few basic spices and dried herbs on hand, you can make your own version of this spice blend. It will probably end up being cheaper than buying a pre-made mix, and you can customize it to your own tastes.

This recipe is adapted from one of my old culinary school cookbooks, and I’ve been using it ever since I graduated, for everything from smoked meat mac and cheese to roasted vegetables. This DIY Cajun seasoning is a must-try for any home cook.

Why you’ll love DIY Cajun Seasoning

  • It’s cost effective, especially if you save money by purchasing the individual spices needed in small amounts from bulk bins.
  • You have all of the control over the ingredients. You can make it more or less spicy, and even reduce the salt amount if you need to.
  • It’s a versatile spice blend to have on hand, because you can use it on meats, seafood, vegetables and more.

Citrus & Herb Turkey Breast Tenderloin Recipe

As somebody who has been in the “food world” for 15 years, I’ve heard the debate time and time again: is turkey really the worst part of a holiday dinner? I don’t think so – and I’m here to show you how turkey can truly shine, whether it’s for a holiday or even just a weeknight (really)!

The key to a turkey you’ll crave is all in the preparation. Overcooked, bland turkey? Nobody’s excited about that. But a perfectly cooked, flavor-packed turkey tenderloin? Game changer.

Whether you’re looking to avoid a week of leftovers or just want a smaller, stress-free option, this Citrus & Herb Turkey Tenderloin recipe that I learned how to make in culinary school is the solution.

What Is A Turkey Tenderloin?

A turkey tenderloin is a boneless, skinless cut from the turkey breast. It’s the most lean and tender portion of the breast.

It has a mild flavor and juicy texture when cooked properly. It cooks much faster than a whole turkey or even a full turkey breast, so it’s a great quick option, even for a weeknight.

Why You Will Love This Recipe For Turkey Tenderloin

  • Cooks much faster than a whole roasted turkey. This recipe should take you no more than 45 minutes or so, start to finish.
  • Lots of ways to customize to make this recipe your own, suited to your preferences.
  • Follow the directions below, and absolutely nobody will deem this turkey dry or lacking flavor.

A Bourbon Lemon Cocktail perfect for happy hour

A well-made bourbon sour (or bourbon smash drink) is a refreshing joy to drink. Made with bourbon and a generous amount of simple syrup and lemon juice, it’s sweet while still being well, sour.

But what if you could elevate the experience even more? This Bourbon Rosemary Cocktail only requires adding a few sprigs of rosemary to the pot while you’re making the simple syrup.

This rosemary-infused simple syrup is also the backbone of my cranberry rosemary cocktail, vodka grapefruit cocktail and rosemary gin and tonic.

Today, we’re using it for a sophisticated yet approachable twist on a classic bourbon sour.

Why you will love this Lemon Bourbon Rosemary Drink

  • A great way to use up extra rosemary you have on hand.
  • A way to elevate even a not-so-luxe bottle of bourbon.
  • Super easy measurements and no special bartending skills required.
